AAA Asian Art Archives Special Collections

Post written by Rhett D’Costa

The Asia Art Archives (AAA) is a great organisation which is an independent non-profit organisation located in Hong Kong. It was initiated in 2000 in response to a need to document and make available the complex and multiple histories of art and research in the region. Checkout it out as it has a valuable collection of materials which is freely available from their website and of course if you are in Hong Kong you can visit their onsite library.

Their Special Collections are explained below.

AAA’s Special Collections comprise groups of material gathered from donated personal collections and focused research projects with a particular focus on primary source material and rare documents. In most cases, AAA keeps only a digital copy, which it makes available from the Collection Online or through computers on-site at AAA. Rare tangible material is housed in a fireproof room with temperature and humidity control and can be easily accessed by making a request to library staff.
