As an artist, writer, curator or other professional in the Arts Industry it is essential to have an online presence. A digital folio can be used to apply for:
- National or overseas residencies
- Local government commissions
- Group or individual exhibitions
- Grants or other sources of funding
While you are at university a digital folio can also be used to record your progress and as a digital assessment tool. For example it can:
- Contribute to your assessments and reviews
- Allow you to share images and text with your peers and lecturers
- Be used to apply for further study or employment
Your lecturers will expect you to have a digital folio and will at times create assessment tasks that will be assessed via your folio. If you already have a personal website you can use this as your digital folio and simply add pages that relate to your assessment tasks.
